May 9, 2010 Mother's Day
We went back to the dog park this week to check on the worms we wrote about a couple of weeks ago. Not surprisingly, they're still growing and we noticed they've taken over quite a few trees now. At this rate, they'll probably have consumed the entire dog park by the end of May and quite possibly the entire town of Prior Lake by the end of summer. If one of you gets a chance, please notify the authorities and get us some help. Thanks! 3 On Friday night, we took Miss Sheri on a shopping spree as an early Mother's Day gift.
Normally, Luke and Avery do a lot of belly aching when we go clothes shopping for their mother. But I was really proud of them. They didn't complain at all the whole time we were there. As a matter of fact, we hardly heard a peep out of them at all. On the other hand, I was ready to get out of there pretty quickly after we arrived.
On Saturday morning, we continued mommy's weekend adventure by seeking a new leaf bagging system for her favorite lawn tractor. Apparently, she's getting a bit tired raking up all of our leaves by hand by herself. Between you and me, I think she's being a bit of a complainer, but what are you gonna do?
Later that afternoon, we went to see Iron Man 2. It was a pretty lousy movie and I'm giving it one Big Thumb Down. It probably should have been called Transformers 3: More Boring Robot Battles. It just didn't have the spark and originality of the first movie. The movie theater we went to featured brand new “SXHD” technology which is a 4 story tall screen, with ultra surround sound, and super high res projectors. I didn’t notice that much difference. Except in my ticket prices!! $11 a ticket and an extra $14 for snacks. Does it really cost almost $60.00 to take a family of 4 to a Saturday matinee any more? For those prices, Iron Man should actually appear in the theater and give me a foot rub while I’m watching!
The weather has been really cool lately, so we haven't gone on the lake yet but that doesn't stop Sunny from wanting to go swimming. That dog would sleep in the water if we'd let him!
We took Grandma Linda to the Chianti Grill in Burnsville for Mother's Day. They had a really good buffet and we took advantage! Happy Mother's Day to all you wonderful ladies out there!
