First Visit to Target Field May 2, 2010
On Tuesday night, we went to see the boy's final choir concert of the year. Avery was very excited to notice I was taking their picture.
During the concert, Luke had a speaking part and the chance to tell a few jokes with one of his friends. I wish I could remember how it went because it was actually very funny. The final one was in reference to a jazz musician in space and the punch line was Groovity. On second thought, you probably had to be there to understand the humor.
Dr. Bollig, Professor Daninger, and myself had the chance to leave work a little early on Thursday and go check out the newest ball field in professional baseball, Target Field. It was very impressive!
Shortly after we arrived, I had the opportunity to have a brief visit with Minnesota Twin's President, Jerry Bell. It was interesting hearing him tell a few of the behind the scenes details of the stadium's construction. He was a very nice man who seemed to be extremely proud of his new ballpark.
Our good friends at Intel invited us to Target Field to attend their New Technology Launch Event for local corporate customers. They were showing off their new XEON 7500 and 5600 CPU's as well as some of their other cool new products. Surprisingly, there were an awful lot of baseball analogies used in their presentation.
We were there showcasing some of Nor-Tech's latest technology including our newest line of Portable Datacenters featuring cases from Elliptical Media. This is Louie Lamas and we go back with him for many years. He used to be a Bigwig at Seagate when we first knew him and we're excited to be able to work with him again as he launches this exciting new product line of mobile racks that can run multiple servers while completely enclosed! You can even spray this thing with a fire hose while it's running which is something I've always wanted to do!
On Saturday night, we had the opportunity to get together with some good friends to enjoy some good food, good talk, and good drink. Not necessarily in that order.
Chris Hornbuckle ---- Weiner Man
The reason for our get together was to celebrate the 17th year of birth of young Jon Hornbuckle. I swear the kid doesn't look a day older than 16.
Avery dazzled us with his skills at building card houses while his brother dazzled us with his skills at knocking them down.
What the hell was that?
